about

This song dates back 15 years. I had a catastrophic hard drive failure and the recording session of this (and many others) was lost, until - I found an old iPod touch with stereo MP3 mixes on it. I was able to re-rip to analog, then digital, then add Jim Casson on drums to complete it a decade and a half later.

lyrics

There goes the girl who walks alone
She passes by, time suspends it’s hold
It’s said she was once a princess fair
Now she carries a weight that goes untold
She has the world tied to her string
The men they crowd to glimpse the pretty thing

Oh the hope of a day where she’ll come to see
A man, with eyes for more than a bride-to-be

Once was a time, so carefree and bold
There comes a fight, to keep her story whole
In a world where men vanquish love and must conquer all
To fill their boots with tawdry spoils, the king must always fall
She has the words to speak, her honesty commands
One and all must come to call, united we may stand

Oh the hope of a day where she’ll come to see
A man, with eyes for more than a a bride-to-be
